Is it true that in general certain types of carbohydrate can cause you to feel more hungry and if so is there an underlying theory as to why this occurs?

Iirc, certain sugars mess with the bodies ability to feel full. Basically you’re getting enough energy but your stomach is still saying it isn’t full. This hinders the body’s ability to self regulate hunger/feeling full.
