Yes. It is bad for your overall mental and physical (lungs) health. So is so many other things that are normal, everyday things in our life.
Stress from work, processed foods, toxic friends and family, The Sun.
Once we are born we slowly start dying. Anything you consume can be bad for you. Especially if you live in California. Fish has mercury, ginger and balsamic vinegar contain lead. Coffee and certain other cooked foods have carcinogens.
It seems like once we are born, the world around us is slowly killing us and it’s up to you to make the least dangerous choices in order to live and have the quality of life you prefer. Even things that have positive health benefits, have negative ones too.
It’s up to us to choose the life we want to live.
I’m 30, I’ve been smoking joints since I was 15. (Quit 5 years some time ago but came back to it 3 years ago or so).
I really think it strongly depends on who you are, your overall health and how your body reacts to it.
I can smoke at any time during the day, do my job or hang out it with people and nobody has a clue I smoked before.
The only noticeable thing, and I HATE it, is that I do have a cough that will come a few times a day (I just cough once or twice, not those people who half spit out their lungs).
I also have to point out the economic aspect, when I was a teenager I had a o go through hoops to buy weed, rather than just accepting I can’t afford it.
Today I’m lucky enough to have a well paying job and so my weed smoking doesn’t get in the way of anything. But be careful with it is that could be an issue.
Overall it can be either very harmful or absolutely inoffensive depending on where you’re at in life, your health, your money.
Also, if you do want to smoke, try to document yourself on how to identify bad quality products. This makes a difference too. And DONT SMOKE HASH. That shit is terrible for your lungs
if you want an actual answer, go to [scholar.google.com](http://scholar.google.com) and search for papers on it. Meta analysis are good papers usually. Look for papers from big, respected, journals and institutions (like WHO).
When you find a paper, just read the abstract and conclusion chapters. Instead of reading 30 pages, you only read maybe two pages. After reading a couple of different ones (that uses different sources) you will have a good idea of what’s up. It’ll take you maybe one hour of searching and reading if you know which words to use. Maximum one hour
It is a controversial topic and not well studied. Any comments in this thread are anecdotal.
There are new studies showing heavy users might possibly be linked to causing a smaller learning center of the brain (hippocampus). However much more and longer studies need to be conducted. There seems to be minimal risk for a once in a week user (only weed).

My 2 cents: some of the dangers could come from the effects of addiction on the brain and the potential mild Co2 poisoning from hits from the bong or smoke weed everyday behaviour. When my homies pass around another spliff and I take a scary shower the heighten activation of the amygdala could train your brain to shrink the amygdala. I might have to call my mom up and tell her what’s up. When paranoia is induced multiple times a week it’s prob not healthy for the brain.
However like I said anyone who says they know for sure is blowing smoke out their ass.
Oh shit I forgot about the chicken nuggets from the first verse.
This subject has naturally been researched. Here two of them. The second is rather interesting.

I know this is from south park but I think it really makes a good point. I should have listened to when I was younger
Well, Stan, the truth is marijuana probably isn’t gonna make you kill people, and it most likely isn’t gonna fund terrorism, but… well, son, pot makes you feel fine with being bored. And it’s when you’re bored that you should be learning some new skill or discovering some new science or being creative. If you smoke pot you may grow up to find out that you aren’t good at anything.
