Is reflection always necessary for objects to be coloured? When things glow and emit light due to excitation of electrons, is it just the same as stars produce light?

There are two ways things can be colored. It can be from emitted light which is caused by that object actually emitting light of a certain wavelength. It can also be from reflected light where the object absorbs some wavelengths that hit it and reflects back other wavelengths, this is how all non-glowing objects get their color.
