Is there any point to ‘cleaning’ a MAJORLY insect infested house, or does there come a point where the only option left is to burn it down?

Definitely better to at least TRY cleaning it. Tenting and bug bombs are effective. However… if the “insect” infestation is termites – depending on the nature of the infestation – it might be better to demolish and start over. This can also depend on the type of construction.
