muscle growth in regards to height

This might be a dumb question, but considering how muscles grow… why are we unable to do the same thing in regards to muscle “tears” causing them to grow longer and stronger in our legs or any workout in our body for that matter , causing us to grow. and why is that now how it works ?

edit: im aware of growth plates closing , but feel like theres more of an explanation to it

I think height is mainly governed by genes and diet rather than than any kind of training if that’s what you’re talking about

Your bones dictate your height, not your muscles. And your bone length is determined mostly be genes (and can be affected by things like diet).

Your skeleton (bones) are the frame of your body, and hence, it is what determines your height. Your muscles are connected to your skeleton and allow it to move. Where your muscles are attached to the bone is genetically predetermined, and for the most part, can’t be changed/moved. Your muscles will grow and make you appear wider and bulkier, but this growth isn’t strong enough to stretch your bones to make you taller.
