– Reflux stuck in throat

Why does Acid reflux/GERD cause a feeling like something’s stuck in your throat when nothing is there? I can’t wrap my head around that sensation.

The feeling of something stuck in your throat is a result of an object stuck there causing mild irritation. If mild irritation has been caused by stomach acid slightly dissolving a spot in a layer you’re used to being there, your brain will perceive it the same way it perceives a foreign object poking your nerves through that layer.
