That internal crunching sound when one moves their head and stretches their neck

You can hear all the cracks in your neck and whole back when they happen too.
What is actually happening to my flesh, that I’m hearing?

I think it’s similar to how you don’t really know what your voice sounds like coz what you’re hearing are the vibrations in your body and not the sound you make.
