the strange feeling you get in your hands/wrists when you’re about to slip and fall?

I’m not sure how exactly to accurately describe the feeling I’m trying to convey here but I’ll give it a shot.

This morning I almost slipped and fell on my stairs. I caught myself, but in that moment I had a somewhat delayed sensation of pain/discomfort or anxiety in my hands and wrists.

I’ve noticed that I have this feeling in my body anytime I’m falling, about to fall, when looking down from a substantial height, or when watching videos of people climbing.

What is it? Why does this feeling occur in these specific areas? Does anyone else relate to this?

It’s called adrenaline. Involuntary response. Freaky and I’ve had it before go through my whole body as I’m slipping or near-falling.
