Those new chrome extensions that show YouTube dislikes, how do they actually find the dislikes for each video?

Title says the most of it. I’ve been trying some browser extensions that allow me to see specifically how many dislikes are on videos, when I technically shouldn’t be able to. How do these extensions do this? I was sure that YouTube would at least put a little more effort into hiding them, if they cared as much as they made out.

Before dislikes were destroyed fully they reached into the YouTube API (The back end of the site where social blade and others draw their data from) since the number was just hidden not uncounted.

Now that method is gone they aggregate user data and scale the ratio of likes to dislikes of users of the extension to the number they’d expect for the video based on total views. It’s not perfect since it only estimates dislikes. But it’s something.
