What are those sharp, paralyzing pains we feel on rare occasions in our buttholes?

I always experience this on the first day of my period cycle. From what I’ve learned from Doctor Google, the condition is called Proctalgia Fugax.

It comes in sudden, 5-10 second pangs, then immediately goes away. It’s pretty paralyzing that I have to stop in my tracks and hold on to something for support if a pang suddenly comes while I’m walking.

Mom tells me it’s like a sneak peek to birthing pains.
