A lot of cheap jewelry has copper in the alloy (the mixture of metals that makes it up). The copper reacts with acids, oils, and moisture on your skin. Most copper reaction products are blueish/greenish.
Basically, you’ve got copper rust on your skin.
Higher quality jewelry metals, like gold or platinum, are very non-reactive. Very little comes off them and the stuff that does doesn’t react or change color.
