What causes temporary loss of hearing and ringing in ears when lightheaded?

For example: sometimes when I get lightheaded I will not be able to hear anything for a bit, then my hearing slowly returns but everything sounds muffled and underwater, then my ears are just ringing but I can hear normally, and then it goes away.

The feeling of lightheadedness is often a blood pressure response. If you stand up too quickly, your heart temporarily needs to pump harder to manage blood flow against gravity, and in that timespan between standing up and increasing blood pressure, the cells and sensors in your head/ear lose oxygen and bloodflow. Without oxygen, your cells don’t work and you lose the sensation of hearing etc. As blood pressure is restored, your hearing comes back, and the ringing stops.
