What changes when strumming a guitar down to up

When playing guitar the are strumming pattions like dd uu du (d=down u=up) what changes if the chord stays the same

The big difference is the order that the strings are struck. On an up stroke, the highest strings are struck first and the higher notes of the chord are emphasised more on an upstroke. For faster strumming and power chords etc., it’s more just about the rhythm.
