What do the numbers next to food dyes on nutrition labels mean/stand for?

I’m enjoying a nice bag of candy corn right now in the end of May, and I see that there is a “Yellow 5” and a “Yellow 6” so I got curious.

It is just the standard name for food color from the [Federal_Food,_Drug,_and_Cosmetic_Act#Certifiable_colors](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Food,_Drug,_and_Cosmetic_Act#Certifiable_colors) It is also known as [Sunset_Yellow_FCF](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunset_Yellow_FCF). In Europe, the name would be E110
