What does the concept of entropy mean?

The way I always thought of entropy was that everything wants to lead to chaos if you let it, probably not the best idea but I feel entropy just makes it so if something, like energy can find its way outwards and into spaces without energy, it will, if something already has heat, the heat will want to get to the cold areas, like it is trying to fill as much space as it can? Not sure if that at all correct
