: What does the term everything is nothing and nothing is everything mean?

To me it means that you can have it all and still have a terrible life. My girlfriends parents are multimillionaires, she’s a model, she did well enough to get into any college she wants, but she’s not happy about alot of stuff in her life. Her parents are on her ass about everything. She has constant issues with her family. Her life isn’t what she wants. I on the other hand grew up in a middle class home. I had to work for most of the stuff I had. I’ll be lucky to graduate college without any debt and I’m pretty happy given everything that’s happened in my life.
The only thing that truly matters is your happiness.
That ultimately there is no meaning to life. We all die, even the universe finally, so everything will be reduced to nothing in the end, and nothing is all that will remian.
