How incognito does it really make us?

It (mostly) stops somebody else who uses your computer from seeing which websites you visited. It doesn’t stop those websites from figuring out who you are. From their perspective, you’ve taken off any “nametag” the website has given you, but you’re not wearing a disguise. If they know what you “look like”, they can still totally tell its you, even without the official “nametag”.
