There’s no way of knowing, but one hypothesis is that this is a vestigial trait, like the tailbone or the fact that some people can wiggle their ears.

This is the same frequency as the squeal of small mammals in distress. So this would be a holdback from the distant evolutionary past when the ancestors of primates were small shrew-like animals.

Much like when listening to music and having chills, certain frequencies are hard wired to our brains over time.
