What happens after dye pack explodes? Does the dyed cash go into trash? If so, does the bank replace and restore the same amount of money?

Damaged money can be returned to the US Treasury and replaced. Banks already to this all the time when bills get torn or worn out, a bunch of died bills is just a slightly larger order to place.
