The same thing that happens if eating a lot of anything without exercise: your body will convert what it can into energy storage (fat).
Your body is not going to build a bunch of muscle out of proteins you eat unless you are exercising. Why not?
Because building muscle is really hard for the body. It takes a lot of resources. When your body was evolving, resources were hard to find. It didn’t make sense to build muscle unless you needed it.
If you aren’t exercising, then your body would rather have fat. Fat can be used later to keep the body alive, whereas it’s harder to use muscle in that way.
