I’m not sure what you mean by traditional neurons. There are over a dozen types of neurons (dozens if you want to subclassify) and there are multiple classification systems (functional, morphological and submorphological, anatomical within or including brain of CNS, etc). Pyramidal cells are just one type, they’re special in that they can Form numerous synapses and project quite long distances in the brain.
