What is a third degree AV heart block?

It’s a disorganized heart rhythm. In a normal heart beat, the two top chamebers squeeze blood into the bottom chambers filling them with blood. Then the bottom chambers squeeze blood out to the lungs (R ventricle) and out to the rest of the body (L ventricle). These actions are coordinated electrically.
In a third degree AV block the actions aren’t coordinated. the atria and the ventricles are both still squeezing only independently instead of in a coordinated fashion. It reduces the cardiac output or amnt of blood going out to the body. Usually the ventricles are beating slowly as well. This manifests itself as weakness/fatigue and often low blood pressure.
People with 3rd degree AV block should definately be under the care of a physician. They often need a pacemaker.
