What is Link Speed?

On connected WiFi’s configuration menu, Link Speed is written 92 Mbps, but it gives a maximum of 6-7 Mbps of download speed on connected devices.

Link speed is the speed at which the connected devices can communicate with the router which should be fast … This is different from the internet speed which is essentially how fast the router receives information through the inter-web.

Imagine a war being fought at multiple fronts, the command center relays commands to each of its generals via some source , this is analogous to internet speed (time taken for the information we need to reach us) while the minute the general recieves his/her command they need to relay it quickly down the line to enforce the instruction (this is link speed).

So using this example….. A commander or a foot man can communicate with the general quickly. This also means that the attack information can be relayed quickly (cached websites are faster to load, downloaded webpages need to be sent to the required device, there should be enough speed to ensure multiple device’s smooth communication etc).

But say the commander needs to clarify something that the general needs to consult the high command for. Then the communication takes time (say the laptop is done browsing Reddit and wants to load 4chan).

Ps. There might be many typos and formatting issues … This was a quick answer through my mobile phone. But I hope the point is clear
