What would happen if you need an emergency chest tube but they don’t have time to administer anesthesia?

Then it really sucks to have them stab you in the chest with a big metal spike and insert that tube. But it is better than dying, and presuming you live you will get over it.

This is how it goes for most emergency medical procedures. If you need it, you need it, even if it hurts.
