Period cycles are weird. Anything throws them off. Diet, exercise, stress are good examples.

Stress throws your entire system out of whack. Your body may end up in fight or flight mode, for example. It’s got better things to do than bleed.

Diet throws it off because of dairy (contains small amounts of estrogen, makes the symptoms worse), or not having enough nutrients to go through the process.

Exercise has to do with stress put on the body as well. That’s all how my sister explained it to me, anyway

I don’t have personal experience (I have am a man) or scientific specialty in the subject, but I’m pretty sure it boils down to hormones.

Hormones are like workers in the body. They each have a specialization. Stress releases its own ‘workers’ that make the other ‘workers’ have to work harder. Sometimes even preventing them from doing their job. The menstrual cycle revolves around these ‘workers’ being on a tight (or loose sometimes) schedule. Stress will affect this
