During the young years of Earth, the planet was bombarded with ice asteroids during a time called “Late Heavy Bombardment” about 3.8 billion years ago (Earth is roughly 4.6 billion years old for reference). It is believed that most of our water comes from these asteroids. Due to the high temperature of the planet during its formation it’s unlikely that there is any water that dates back to that time.

It came with all the rocks, gasses, and other materials when they all crashed together to build up the Earth. Comets and other debris have a lot of ice

That doesn’t make any sense because plasma and space and energy are all made of atoms. So had did an atom get made?

Something happened? What does that mean?

It was there for a large part already during the formation of the planet, and later it came from asteroids and comets (for a minor part of it).
