who do bad eggs start to float over time? Does the shell leak egg material?

The eggs are fixed in size, and the initial weight is given. Over time some egg oozes out of the shell, so it gets lighter?

moisture inside the egg evaporates over time and air replaces the moisture so the egg becomes more bouyant.

Essentially, yes. In a sense. Eggs have tiny pores in their shells, which let gases/moisture transfer between inside and the outside. Moisture from inside the egg can evaporate and go out of the egg, but air can also go into the egg itself, changing the density/buoyancy of the egg. They start to float because that small air pocket in them gets bigger.

So no, it doesn’t really ‘ooze out’ but the moisture can escape through tiny holes in the shell.
