Who is Karen and what makes her so annoying? How did this start?

I’m not sure but I think it started with Dane Cook and a joke in his comedy special years ago. He basically said that every group has a “Karen”… the person that no one invited but somehow always shows up. Also, if you don’t have a Karen in your group then YOU are the Karen. You can you tube it by searching “Dane Cook Karen joke”. I haven’t seen it in years but always remembered this bit because it’s so true
Karen is a stereotypical name for a upper middle class middle aged white privileged woman with a specific up done short blonde hair who’s anti-vaxx Vegan person who always blames the help/staff at a store for her mistakes
