For the same reason that a 20,000 square foot house made of shitty building materials isn’t priced the same as a 20,000 square foot house made of elaborate vintage brick. There is more to a car or motorcycle than just its engine. The car will have more electronics, a safety system, etc.

In China, you can buy some 1000cc cars that cost about the same as a 1000cc motorcycle. I wouldn’t buy one of those cars, but they do exist.

Well, think about what the displacement of an engine is: A fat load of nothing. It’s the empty space within the engine. When you buy a car or bike, you aren’t paying for the empty space! You’re paying for the solid stuff and the effort it took to produce it!
