; Why adult use another kind of shampoo/soap versus child?

My question is about the difference between the product. We use free perfum, skin friendly, etc .. on babies but when we’re adult. We suddently use another kind of product with more and more useless things in it. Don’t understand why we have 2 kinds of products… If baby product is better. We should everyone use baby product on us nah?

I hope i’m clear in my question, english is not my primary language..

Thank you!

Child shampoo is designed to not burn their eyes; it’s able to do this because it’s less effective at breaking up oil and grease. Nothing is stopping you from buying tear free shampoo, but it won’t clean nearly as well.

The shampoo we use on babies and animals do not burn their eyes and other problematic areas as much. This is important as they do not have as much control over where the soap end up and might have issues telling their parents that it hurts and rinse it out. It is a bit more complex but in general the soap is weaker because you can not add all the ingredients that you would for adult shampoos and those you do add can not be as strong.

As for the perfume this have changed. Some perfumes does hurt the eyes but not all. Baby shampoo used to have these perfumes in them. But it turns out that perfumes tend to cause astma. This is much more likely in kids as adults do not often develop astma, if at all. So a lot of baby products which used to be full of perfume is now perfume free.

Babies’ skin is thinner, more fragile, and more sensitive. They also do not have mature body hair or developed oil and sweat glands, and they generally do not do activities that get them dirty (other than their own body fluids). For these reasons, it is preferable to use a mild, unscented product to minimize irritation. A strong soap would be unnecessary.

Adults have thicker, tougher skin, that is protected by hair and produces mature oil and sweat, and that gets dirt and grime on it from daily tasks. We can use stronger, harsher cleansers to remove the buildup. Adults can also choose certain scents for enjoyment and self-expression.

The short answer is that one isn’t better than the other, they just meet different needs. It’s like washing a silk dress versus washing a pair of jeans – they each need different treatment in order to remain in their best condition.
