Social animals call to each other when they wake up. Birds are just the only such animals left in many human environments. They also have larger ranges, so they’re more likely to use sound to find each other.

I lived across a river from a troop of baboons for a summer, they were a lot louder than the birds. Every. Morning.

Birds are loud when they are awake. Humans are louder in the middle of the day than they are at the start and end.

So, birds just seam loud in the morning, its just that humans are quiet at this time and cannot drown them out.

Besides the biological reasons people are saying, sound also travels better in cold, still air which would be morning air

It’s something called dawn chorus. Apparently, it’s mostly male birds being territorial, trying to attract mates, or calling to their flock.

I’m going to guess that the morning hours are quiet enough that there’s little competition (much to the chagrin of other creatures who hate mornings).

Fun fact. There were so many typically-unseen birds visible during COVID lockdown bc it was so quiet. They could finally hear each other calling.

Because they want to fu……they’re looking for a partner to spend the rest of their lives together with, being absolutely monogamous and raising an upstanding family.
