Why are bombs shaped like bombs and not spheres? 240 viewsJanuary 1, 2024 Question91.06K March 24, 2023 0 Comments Why are bombs, the ones dropped from airplanes, shaped like an oval with fins on one end? Why aren’t they spheres so they just fall down onto the target? In: 7 27 Answers ActiveNewestOldest Anonymous Posted March 24, 2023 0 Comments A pointy oval has a lot less aerodynamic drag. And that matters if you’re dragging them around attached to a plane. An oval with fins also tends to fall in a nice predictable path. Spheres kinda just go wherever they want.
