Why are bridges illuminated at night using blue lights?

There could be a lot of reasons, specific for any bridge. But I do know a lot of bridges have them because of studies done that show blue lights make people less likely to jump off the bridge and kill themselves. And many cities claim that since installing blue lights, there have actually been less suicide attempts in those places.
There coudl still be other reasons of course. That’s just one of them.
