There is two ethnic groups in yemen that hate each other and they fight a lot, which is bad but kinda happens all sorts of places. It turned extra special bad because saudi arabia really supports one of the two groups, and the US wants to be friends with saudi arabia because they have oil, so the US and saudi arabia teamed up to stop the “terrorists”, but it’s not a fight with really clear good and bad sides, just two groups, so it’s ended up kinda just being blocking off access to the country entirely, which in a country where some regions are basically 100% of the food is imported is basically just murder of whole towns.
