Why are disgraced content creators encouraged to delete their accounts/archive/content when deplatforming?

I haven’t seen it explained why this is encouraged, if the behavior that lead to them being exposed as a toxic figure/missing stair is unrelated to their content. I know it must be important, if the nuclear option is the best option according to majority opinions, I just personally don’t understand or know why, and even seems more harmful to me if the Missing Stair deletes all of their account/content. I just want some clarity on this lol. Thanks!

Because “social media” is a disgraceful cesspool of intolerant idiots. Once the crowd has turned on someone, they will continue to disrupt their life and career until the next victim comes along. By deleting all the content, you starve them of ammunition to attack you about.

because social media as a whole forces people to do it, otherwise its vile nature will use anything it can find as ammunition to disrupt the person’s life.

an example if a bit obscure: if you are or were a wrestling fan you prolly are aware of a storyline TNA pushed a few Years ago by the name of ” Claire Lynch”(TLDR: fake pregnancy…its a mess), it was an infamous one because of the nature of the subject matter and the fact it never saw resolution: this was because the actor portraying “Claire” quit on the company due to the fact the fans were using social media to disrupt her actual career as a freelance actor and she just cut off any connections with this job for the sake of their livelihood.
