Why are older lightbulbs yellow/orange and newer ones white? 531 viewsJanuary 3, 2024 Question90.50K March 28, 2021 0 Comments thought of this while night driving last night and seeing old cars with yellow lights and new cars with bright white lights. In: Technology 5 Answers ActiveNewestOldest Anonymous Posted March 28, 2021 0 Comments Older lightbulbs are not yellow on purpose, it’s just the nature of the filament technology. Newer LEDs can be made to be any color, so they choose to make them white. What you see as “white” is closer to the color of natural sunlight.
