why are the forces of friction, tension and air resistance associated with electromagnetic force?

Because they are all, to varying degrees, deal with intra and inter molecular forces which are primarily governed by electrons whose behavior is governed by the electromagnetic force.
We’re too far away from the nucleus for Strong and Weak nuclear forces to take part, and Gravity is simply too weak at this scale to matter.
