Why aren’t we making new toilets and bathroom stuff coated with that hydrophobic material? Wouldn’t that take a little bit of water from the process?

Many of the gee-whiz hydrophobic coatings you see videos about are not at all durable or long lasting. They require frequent re-coating and do not hold up to cleaners.
