Why aren’t we making new toilets and bathroom stuff coated with that hydrophobic material? Wouldn’t that take a little bit of water from the process?

If water was the contamination that needed to be removed, making it hydrophobic would be helpful (though costly). However, making it hydrophobic wouldn’t necessarily make feces not stick, and water is just used to wash that away.
