You don’t forget what happened. When you reach that point your brain stops making new memories. Basically your brain hits pause and stops recording. You’ll live in the moment the whole time but the past will be limited to minuets.

It interferes with the chemicals that are involved in converting short to long term memory, and the electrical activity in the parts of the brain that do it. Each drug does it in a different way.

Alcohol make brain not work right. Brain not remember what happen. When alcohol wear off, brain work right again. Maybe not drink so much.

The alcohol affects the neurotransmitters and biological processes in the brain related to memory. Here’s a video that explains it quite well [How does alcohol cause blackouts? ](https://youtu.be/rkXMdJY1SXQ?si=ZsfuXDEAiobZd1Qx)

Your brain create memories by connecting neurons and pathways in the brain, making “what is happening” a permanent memory rather than a fleeting one.

Alcohol severely impact your brain functions. One of these impacted function is the ability to connect neuron efficiently. So basically your brain can’t properly create memories.
