The rear windshield defrosters seem so much more effective. Is it just the lines across the drivers field of view that makes it decidedly unsafe?

Jag f-pace (suv) replacement heated windshield is $1332 +$60 shipping + a few hours of labor +taxes, easily hits the $2k mark out the door.
It is nice though I almost never use it, definitely just as effective as the rear glass defrost, combine it with the heater and you can have a clear windshield in 10 minutes
