– Why can’t front windshields have the same defrosting method as rear windshields?

The rear windshield defrosters seem so much more effective. Is it just the lines across the drivers field of view that makes it decidedly unsafe?

It is just expensive and any damage, which is more likely in the front, could result in a total replacement, also expensive

More LPT but if you flip down your sun visors it defrosts faster. It helps catch the air and keep it circulating on the windshield.
