why can’t my dog have pork?

164 viewsBiologyOther

I read a lot that dogs should not eat pork even if it’s cooked thoroughly because it might make them sick. Why is that? Why doesn’t it make me sick then? (I could even enjoy rare pork, when the cooling chain was not interrupted.)

Is there a difference between industrially produced cheap pig meat (fed with lots of antibiotics) and let’s say wild boar meat from the woods?

Pork is usually the combination of 2 things.

1) Fatty

2) Salty

It can flare up underlying issues in dogs with pancreatic sensitivities causing pancreatitis

The salt content can be a problem for dogs with underlying kidney or heart issues, making those worse.
