I read a lot that dogs should not eat pork even if it’s cooked thoroughly because it might make them sick. Why is that? Why doesn’t it make me sick then? (I could even enjoy rare pork, when the cooling chain was not interrupted.)
Is there a difference between industrially produced cheap pig meat (fed with lots of antibiotics) and let’s say wild boar meat from the woods?

There doesn’t seem to be a clear answer to this practice besides the same concerns about raw/undercooked pork that affect human consumption.
The AKC [advises](https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/nutrition/can-dogs-eat-pork/#:~:text=Pork%20is%20also%20rich%20with,and%20inflammation%20of%20the%20pancreas.) that pork fat is especially difficult for dogs to digest, which may cause inflammation of their pancreas.
