why can’t my dog have pork?

204 viewsBiologyOther

I read a lot that dogs should not eat pork even if it’s cooked thoroughly because it might make them sick. Why is that? Why doesn’t it make me sick then? (I could even enjoy rare pork, when the cooling chain was not interrupted.)

Is there a difference between industrially produced cheap pig meat (fed with lots of antibiotics) and let’s say wild boar meat from the woods?

Humans are immun and can not be affected. Many other mammals like dog, cat sheep swine can be affected.
