why cant you apply lotions, perfumes, deodorants, or nail polish the day of a colonoscopy? Whats the reason behind that?

I just had kidney stone surgery and they had all these restrictions listed along with no makeup, hair products, or jewelry. I went along with everything except the no-deoderant rule cuz I didn’t wanna be stinky lol
