If I blow in your ear it makes a sound, the car moves air as it drives and the sound of the air being pushed by the car it the woosh sound you hear.

Sound is vibrations traveling through air (or other matter). Think of all the moving parts on a speeding car, the wheels spinning rapidly, the engine running, the muffler limiting the noise from the thousands of explosions occurring constantly to make the engine function to push the car forward. All the other little pieces of the car jiggling and bouncing around as the car goes over bumps, the wheels rolling on the ground, it all adds up makes for a very noisy machine. Add to that the fact that the car is pushing tons of air out of its way, especially at high speeds, which essentially creates wind. It’s no wonder they’re so loud.
