Why do clouds turn gray when it’s about to rain?

Hold up a tissue to a lamp. You can see through it, hold up two tissues to a lamp, you can still kinda see through it, but it’s a lot darker.

Clouds are made up of water vapor. A little bit of water vapor is see through. A little more looks white/ like a cloud. If you have a whole lot of water vapor, like right before it’s about to rain, it looks grey.
