Why do fish float when they die?

They are generally neutral in buoyancy when alive to slightly more dense than water. So…typically they die and sink, but then shortly after death decomposition produces gasses and then cause them to be more buoyant by puffing up a bit and being less dense than the water and then floating to the surface.
