Why do humans dance? Is it replicated in other species of animals?

Yes, many great apes including notably Chimps sway along with sounds, even in some cases tapping feet and clapping hands. Many birds also dance as they sing or in response to other birds’ songs. In most cases it is a demonstration of desirability – a “mating dance” is a well known thing but great apes seem to just enjoy doing it for its own sake.
